Chimps League Semi Final Wrap Up
Man U beat Arsenal 1-0 through O'shea solitary goal and Barca the wimp master drew blanks againts Chelsea in the Champs League 1st leg semi finals. The Devils still dreaming becoming the 1st team to defend the title win their home encounter again the gooners. It was an open game but lack goals. Expect and explosive 2nd league at the Emirates next week. I'll be rooting for Wenger's side though. In another semi final, Barca the free scoring team of the season, for the first time fail to score at home this season. Chelsea was blame by the Spanish for their over defensive approach. Well, Pep Guardiola need to add a plan B to his team tactical play though. This shows that Barcelona is beatable and yet a complete team. So all the best for the 2nd leg....

Liverpool is back to their winning ways by beating Hull City 3-1. Alonso open the scoring for the REDS. Hull then went to 10 men after a madness at fouling Martin Skertel. Kuyt scored Liverpool's second from a close range header. Hull scored to reduce the score 2-1. Kuyt seal the win for Rafa's men for his 2nd goal and Liverpool's third. The win put the REDS top of the league (mind you Man u still has 2 games in hand). On the other note, the RED GIANTS won the 2009 FA Cup after beating Kelantan tru a penalty shootout. Saffee Sali scored the winning penalty.

A Bridge Too Far
Chelsea 4- Liverpool 4 (Chelsea7-Liverpool 5)
Chelsea come to the game with a great 2 goal advantage after their 3-1 win@Anfield a week before. The REDS need to win by a 3 goal margin to cancel out Chelsea 2 away goals (eg 3-0,4-1,5-2 etc..). With such an almost impossible task to advance to the semi final, most people have write off Liverpool chances and say that it’s for Chelsea to loose the tie. Well this is football, and anything can happen.
The game kicks off at 245++am in the morning (Malaysian time). Can’t really say much about the first half though, as I woke up at 340:D. Still clueless bout the half time score as there’s no internet at the hotel room (there is though with a cost, RM50/day!). Then saw the score at the tube, its LIVERPOOL 2- Chelsea 0 (goals through Aurelio free kick and Alonso’s penalty). Wow, one more goal and the REDS go will go through, but there’s still another 45 minutes to go (Gerrard is in the stand fyi). As I said before, anything can happen in FOOTBALL and winning this tie will add another great comeback, to the already large collection that the REDS have recorded.
So the 2nd half starts, with the REDS need score another goal or two and Chelsea need to shut out the REDS or score another goal or better yet win the game. Basically both sides have a fair shot to win the game and the tie itself. The REDS continued to attack and the travelling fans is full of confidence. At around 61st minute, Chelsea scored. Reina let in a seemingly harmless cross from Anelka at the near post. Its Chelsea 1 Liverpool 2.That makes the task even harder for the men a REDS and relieve to Chelsea. Drogba came closed with a freekick. Then about the 5 mins later, Alex takes the free kick and scores with a thunderous shot with Reina well beaten. What a smashing goal I must say. Then FAT Lampard add the 3rd goal for Chelsea and you must say that Chelsea has won the game as The REDS need to score another 2 goals.
LUCAS scored Liverpool 3rd and to level the score. KUYT scored Liverpool’s 4th 2 or 3 mins later. The REDS go for broke by bringing in Supersub Babbel for Aurelio the left back. As the REDS for the 5th to win the tie, FAT Lampard levelled the score and with less than 5 mins to go, the task is even harder. Final whistle was blown and Chelsea advance to the semis finishing the game 4 all and winning the tie 7-5 in aggregate. What a game I must say. The REDS score 4 goals at an away game but to bad they concede 4 goals. Again the Blues ousted the REDS for the 2nd year running in Europe. Now all focus will be channelled to the League. Good job to the REDS in making the game such a spectacle.

Spent last weekend back at home in KL. Went to the movies to catch the latest installment of Fast&Furious 4. Enjoyable movie indeed. After that it's TAKO TAO time...yeah! I just love this ball type kind of food. The food preparation itself is yummy...Octopus flavored is my favourite..RM4.30 for 3 pieces.
